HAPPY NEW YEAR
Live From The Back Part Of The Flag CD
Amanita Records (French import)
Bererk free-jazz noise splatter from
Ron Anderson (MOLECULES),drummer/vocalist Glenn Sorvisto (ex
WOO),and 99 Hooker on electrified sax, recorded live across
France in 1995 (with one track recorded in San Francisco). The
trio gets epileptic with 15 improvised panic attacks, sometimes
slipping into a narcoleptic dirge, but mostly blaring away,
bright technicolor smears of trumpet and sax dueling backed by
stretched-out tape sludge, retardo bass guitar squiggle, and
grunting, ranting, totally incoherent vocals. This album actually
pretty much heads straight into total noisecore territory for
the most part, but driven by 99 Hooker's spastic sax blurt, and
there is some actual muscianship at work here, so it's
not just full-on blasting chaos. More like drowsy Anal Cunt
jamming with an overcaffeinated Albert Ayler. Thoroughly absurd
hyperkinetic jazz/prog/noise that fits right between your Flying
Luttenbachers and Ruins discs.
