Festival Fruits de MhereGirls with Big Shoes PAK Europe Winter 02
From September 20~October 21, 2002, Ron Anderson toured in Europe with PAK, conducted music workshops, performed solo, duets with various musicians and gave one surprise concert with RonRuins.
Ray,
Xavier Charles and Jesse in front of Cafe Intro a small club in Dudelange,
Luxembourg. Xavier is a great clarinetist and composer who was kind enough
to drive us to the concert from Verdun, France. Luxembourg is a nice place to start a tour and to
warm up for the festival the next night.
Three Photos of PAK at Festival Fresnes en
Watt - Fresnes en Woevre, France.

Etage 34 played Fresnes
en Watt the same night with a powerful set. Right, Dominique Répécaud-Mariage
(RA performed with Dominique, Jean Michael Mariage and Ray Sage in Paris a few
days later.) Center, Daniel Koskowitz, Left, Olivier Paquotte.
Day after the festival Ray on
top of a old machine gun pill box at one the battle fields of Verdun, France.
More history on Verdun: fifty million shells to kill an estimated one
million people in nine months. Horrible.

Does anyone know the
name of this guy? I first met him during on of the first Molecules concerts in Bordeaux,
France. He was playing insanely outside of the club during our sound check
so I invited him to do a short set and open up for the Molecules. Nice surprise
to see him open the show in Bordeaux for PAK in a group called Erez
Martinic. After all these years he still plays like a madman.
Dinner
in Brest, France with members of Zwieback.
Hops and Matthias of Kaus in a
field of Windmills and cows. I did a solo concert with Kaus in Oldenburg
and then we drove to Amsterdam where I did a solo. Hops sat in on drums for a
bit.
All over northern
Germany hundreds (thousands) are huge Wind Turbines (windmills) making
clean energy. I heard a lot of talk about how they make alot of noise, with dangerous
low frequencies. I wanted to hear this for myself. They do make a swishing
sound, which I found to be very pleasant, like the ocean, but you have to be
very close to hear them at all. They also look incredible, like giants, their
arms keeping time spinning in the wind.

Massimo of the band ZU and his girlfriend at their place in outside of Rome,
Italy. I was lucky to have a day off to spend with them sleeping on the beach of
the Mediterranean Sea, a short distance from their apartment. Massimo set up my
tour of Italy: concert with RonRuins in Faenza, solo in Lecce, duet with Claudio
Parodi in Bologna follow by a recording session with Claudio in Genoa.
I gave a two day
workshop on Improvisation in Metz, France and the a concert with
Michel Oury on the third day. After the second day of the workshop
Michel and I drove to Nancy to see Frederic Le Junter give a solo concert with
home made musical instruments and machines.
When I'm in Paris I always visit
my friend Jac Berrocal. In the late 70's early 80's Jac was in a band called Catalog.
Check out their CD on Hat Hut called Penetration.
